Leilanie I. Norita is a Refaluwasch storyteller from the village of Oleai on the island of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Lani recollects the teachings of her elders and the compassion and patience taught to her by her grandfather as a young teenager learning the language and culture. It is her hope to instill these values onto her children as Lani comes from a lineage of traditional storytellers and knowledge keepers. Lani practices the value of awóówó (respect) and shares that it is never too late to learn your language and your culture.
