Agatha Ketebengang is a Refaluwasch storyteller and also of Palauan descent from the village of Koblerville on the island of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Aggie reflects on her heritage and the lessons taught to her by her grandmother who passed down stories of traditional tattoo and the practice of leiweila and other sacred stories of awóówó (respect) for her elders, for the ocean and for the land. Aggie comes from a lineage of traditional storytellers and knowledge keepers such as her grandmother who was always Refaluwasch first but also God fearing. Today, Aggie continues to share in the importance of building community throughout the Marianas.
